Senior Pastor

Dr. Tommy Vaughn

Becoming the Pastor at Tabernacle (as of April 22, 2018) has brought Tommy Vaughn back to his spiritual roots. Tommy, a Union native, says that one of his earliest memories involves being in the pre-school area of Tabernacle. Fast forward quite a few years, now Tommy is back in Union and serving Tabernacle as our Pastor. Since leaving Union to attend Wofford College, Tommy has embarked on a thirty year career in counseling, program leadership, and teaching in higher education with much of that time spent in Myrtle Beach, SC. While living in Myrtle Beach, Tommy also served as a Minister of Family Life and Interim Youth Minister. Tommy says, "It is a wonderful joy to be back at Tabernacle with a loving group of people who have been so instrumental in my own faith walk." Tommy hopes to see that pattern of love for God and others continue in Tabernacle.

Favorite Bible verse:

Luke 2:52  "And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man."

Tommy says he learned this verse in the fourth grade, and its words continue to remind him that we all must seek to emulate Christ's own journey of intellectual, physical, spiritual, and relational growth.
